Recycling Survey

From 1st April, Powys County Council made changes to how people use Recycling Centres. You now must book a time slot and pay a charge for some items.

The changes were brought in by the Liberal Democrat and Labour Councillors who control Powys County Council.

Welsh Conservative and other Independent County Councillors have been calling for the booking system and additional charges to be scrapped. 

Russell George MS is also supporting the calls and has raised the issues in the Senedd.   

Powys Conservatives believe that the Introduction on an appointment system is a backward step and will make recycling more difficult for residents.  

In Shropshire the plans were reversed, If a majority of County Councillors in Powys agree, the proposals can be reversed here also.

Powys County Council (PCC) say that one reason they have introduced this system is to help improve recycling rates. Which option best reflects your view ?
You will have to pay for Waste from any DIY works or improvements on your home, if more than one small bag. Do you agree with the new DIY waste charges?
The Liberal Democrat Cabinet Member who has introduced the changes has said that there is no evidence that having to book a time slot, or introducing charges, will lead to increased fly tipping. What do you think?
