Dan Rowlands - Candidate for Newtown Llanllwchaiarn North

I am pleased to have been selected as your Welsh Conservative Council Candidate for the Newtown Llanllwchaiarn North ward in May’s Local Government Elections.

I live in Newtown with my wife Lucy and three young children Henry, Bella and Toby. I work full time in the NHS and I am a local school governor. Like many people I enjoy living in Newtown and I want to see our area and town thriving.

There are a number of issues which are of particular interest to me and I believe by working together we can make a difference. As a Paediatric Charge Nurse working within the NHS, I understand the importance of good quality healthcare and how everyone should have access to this. Living in a rural area can often mean barriers to accessing timely effective healthcare but I believe we all should have appropriate services that meet the needs of our community.

Having been a youth worker and bringing up my own children I understand the busyness of life and the demands of raising a family. I want to see children and young people flourishing within our community, having plenty of opportunities to reach their ambitions and aspirations for the future.

However, I would like to receive your views on how we can make a difference together to improve and shape the future of our community. If you elect me as your County Councillor in May, I would like to ensure you that your local issues will be listened to and I will do my best in addressing them.
