My name is Amanda and I am pleased to have been selected as your Welsh Conservative Council Candidate for the Trewern, Buttington and Middletown ward in May’s Local Government Elections.
I live in Trewern with my husband David and my two young boys, Arthur and Teddy, who attend Buttington and Trewern Playgroup. I currently teach English and Law to Secondary School and A-Level pupils and love to help young people reach their potential. Prior to having children, I worked as a solicitor acting for both small and large businesses, gaining experience in Education, Business Law and Health Regulation.
There are a number of issues which are of particular interest to me. From working on public hospital inquiries, I have seen first hand the importance of good quality healthcare and how everyone should have access to this. As a teacher, with experience of working within mainstream schools, I understand the need to ensure that all of our children are given access to the best teaching environments in order to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed for the rest of their lives.
Like many people here, I want to see our local area thrive. I want to see services improved and I want to see tourism and small businesses promoted, whilst maintaining and protecting our rural landscape.
I would, however, like to receive your views on how we can make a difference together and how we can strive to improve and shape the future of our community. If you elect me as your County Councillor in May, I would like to assure you that I will listen to your issues concerning our community and that I will do my best to address them.
