 | GLYN DAVIES LAUNCHES BID TO BECOME MONTGOMERYSHIRE MP! |
 |
Montgomeryshire Conservatives have launched the campaign to have Glyn Davies elected as Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire. The launch took place at Newtown Football Club, where over 100 enthusiastic supporters gathered under the campaign banner 'Montgomeryshire Deserves Better'.
Supporting Glyn Davies were several Conservative and Independent County Councillors, together with the Leader of the Conservatives in the National Assembly, Nick Bourne. In his speech Nick Bourne lauded the part Glyn has played in changing the Conservative Party in Wales , and delivering the success that the Party has enjoyed over recent years. During his rousing speech to end the evening, Glyn Davies said;
"I would be a full-time MP for Montgomeryshire. And I will use my decades of practical experience at many levels of government to represent the people of Montgomeryshire with determination and total commitment. Montgomeryshire deserves a full-time Member of Parliament, dedicated to delivering public service."
"On May 6th, the people of Britain and Montgomeryshire will, at long last, have the chance to decide whether they want change from the politics of the last few years. We desperatelyneed a Government which will end the irresponsible overspending of billions of pounds - all on our children and grand children's credit cards. And we must move on from the sleaze and expenses scandals that have almost destroyed the people's faith in democracy. I believe that I can be the change that Montgomeryshire needs."
